NUTRIFYNUTRIFY

It is commonly believed that frozen fruits and vegetables are not as nutritious as fresh, well this is not true.  The time lapse between picking fresh produce (they have to be sorted and boxed before they can be transported long distances, during this time they are also exposed to air and light) to buying them at store can often cause nutrient loss.  On the other side frozen produce are blanched immediately after picking up and frozen generally when the nutrient levels are at the highest.

FDA and International food information council both state that frozen produce is as good as fresh nutritionally and provide same health benefits.

It’s always great to consume fresh produce especially during season as they are much better in texture and colour but unavailability of your favorite fresh produce is should no longer be an excuse to reduce your fruits and veggie intake 😛

Buying tip – Choose no/low salt and sugar if buying canned fruits and veggies.
